Biometric Access Control

Every human being presents a set of physical, chemical, and behavioral attributes that makes them unique. Biometric technology aims at  identifying those specific characteristics and measuring them for several purposes, including access control. We, at UTS Group, supply, install, repair & maintain Biometric Access Control all over Ontario, British Columbia, and Montreal.

What is Biometric Access Control?

Access control is all about managing access points in a way that would allow entry to authorized users only. Biometric Access Control is when this authorization is based on biometrics. Users identify themselves to the reader with their own bodily parts.

A standard biometric access control system is composed of these four constituents:

  • A sensor device aka scanner
  • A quality assessment unit
  • A feature comparison and matching unit
  • A database

TYPES OF BIOMETRIC ACCESS CONTROL

FINGERPRINT

Widely used in biometric access control solutions, fingerprints are unique to each individual. Even identical twins do not have identical fingerprints!

FACE RECOGNITION

A facial recognition system maps facial features either in real time or from a photo or video. It compares it with a database of known faces in order to find a match.

IRIS SCAN

The iris is the colored part of the eye, and it is unique to each individual. As a matter of fact even your two irises do not match! The algorithm used for iris scanning targets more than 200 features.

VASCULAR SCAN

This system uses near-infrared light to scan the unique vein pattern of the hand’s palm. It also tracks movements within a facility for extra security.

ADVANTAGES OF BIOMETRIC ACCESS CONTROL

We offer a variety of card access control systems equipped with first class products in electronic hardware and software:

It is important to note that while a full energy operator opens the swing door at full speed, a low energy
operator is deemed safer especially for disabled individuals due to its reduced opening speed.

  • Heightened security: Each individual is unique and scanning their unique features is one of the most secure ways to protect your space.
  • Increased convenience: There’s no hassle of carrying any type of key to use the system.
  • Reduced cost: Biometric Access Control systems are the right mix of affordability and popularity.
  • Highly accurate and reliable
